Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) Policy
Your Heart Sickle Cell Foundation, Inc.

At 'Your Heart Sickle Cell Foundation, Inc.', we are committed to fostering a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion in every facet of our organization. Our work is rooted in the belief that every individual—regardless of race, ethnicity, gender identity, age, ability, socioeconomic status, or background—deserves to live a life free from systemic barriers and health disparities, particularly in the fight against Sickle Cell Disease.

Our Commitment
We embrace the rich diversity of our communities and are devoted to:

- Diversity: Actively cultivating a workforce, volunteer base, and leadership team that reflects the diverse communities we serve.
- Equity: Ensuring fair treatment, access, and opportunity by addressing systemic inequalities—especially in healthcare advocacy, education, and support services for those living with Sickle Cell Disease.
- Inclusion: Creating a safe, respectful, and empowering environment where everyone feels seen, heard, and valued.

Our Actions
To honor this commitment, we will:

- Prioritize inclusive community engagement that uplifts voices historically marginalized in healthcare spaces.
- Integrate DEI principles into our hiring, volunteer recruitment, training, and daily operations.
- Collaborate with partners, supporters, and sponsors who share our values and are equally committed to equitable impact.
- Regularly evaluate our practices and programs to ensure they align with our DEI goals and remain responsive to community needs.

Our Vision
We envision a future where diversity fuels innovation, equity breaks down barriers, and inclusion becomes the standard—not the exception—in health advocacy. Through our programs, partnerships, and events like the "Sickle Cell Awareness Grand Gala", we stand united in advancing justice and dignity for every person affected by Sickle Cell Disease.
